ENP SPACE: School Performance and Community Empowerment

ENP SPACE is a flagship initiative of the Ethiopian National Project designed to ensure that Ethiopian-Israeli and other at-risk youth in grades 7–12 have the support, stability, and opportunity they need to succeed. The program combines academic reinforcement, emotional care, mentoring, and basic needs support within a safe, structured after-school framework that strengthens both educational outcomes and personal resilience.

Students participate in weekly small-group instruction with professional educators, individualized academic support, and consistent mentoring from trained—often Ethiopian-Israeli—role models. SPACE places a strong emphasis on emotional wellbeing, helping students navigate personal, social, and national challenges while building confidence, motivation, and a sense of belonging. Nutritious meals, leadership development, enrichment activities, and exposure to higher education and career pathways further remove barriers to success and expand students’ horizons.

Working in close partnership with schools, families, municipalities, and government ministries, ENP SPACE addresses root causes of educational inequality while preparing participants for meaningful military or national service, higher education, and workforce participation. By strengthening youth during these formative years, SPACE invests in Israel’s human capital, promotes social cohesion, and helps build a more resilient and inclusive society.

Ti'ud: Documentation of Ethiopian Jewry and
their Journey to the Land of Israel

The Ti’ud project has been transforming lives since it was launched in
2018. In 2024-25, ENP executed the Ti’ud program in 11 cities with 231 participants, 10% of whom are non-Ethiopian-Israeli. The fifth book is published in Hebrew and will include never-before heard interviews of members of the Ethiopian-Israeli community and their message to future generations. Some participants chose to interview their parents while others chose to interview prominent active members of the community. Some participants chose to conduct their work in small groups while others decided to go through this process as individuals. Regardless of how the participants chose to execute the
stories, each 10th grade participant had the once in a lifetime opportunity to experience special workshops, acquire new writing skills, cultural enrichment and hear from prominent leaders from the Ethiopian-Israeli community.

ENP Bridges Spoken English

The ENP Bridges Spoken English Program is a year-long initiative designed to strengthen English fluency, academic readiness, and cross-cultural connection for Ethiopian-Israeli and other in-need 9th grade students. In the 2024–25 school year, 165 students participated in weekly spoken-English sessions led by trained educators and facilitators, focusing on practical communication, vocabulary development, and conversational confidence. By the end of the year, every participant had advanced to the highest English track in senior high school, positioning them to meet Israel’s university English proficiency requirements and unlocking broader academic and professional opportunities.

Bridges also emphasizes experiential learning and global connection. ENP partnered with Jewish summer camps in Israel and North America, fully sponsoring registration and flights for 21 outstanding graduates in 2025. These immersive experiences allowed students to practice English in real-world settings, build friendships with peers worldwide, and deepen their engagement with global Jewish life.

ENP Excellence

ENP’s Excellence Program is a targeted, high-impact initiative designed to support Ethiopian-Israeli students who demonstrate strong academic potential. The program focuses on students enrolled in the highest track levels in mathematics and English, while also encouraging them to take on
additional majors in the sciences. By combining academic rigor with structured support, the program helps students excel in demanding coursework and build the skills and confidence needed for long-term success.
Through personalized mentoring, academic enrichment, and exposure to advanced learning opportunities, the Excellence Program significantly expands students’ access to higher education pathways. Participants are better positioned for university admission, elite pre-military and national service tracks, and other post-high school placements that are often critical stepping stones to professional and academic advancement. Equally important, the program raises students’ aspirations for their future, reinforcing a belief in their ability to
succeed in competitive academic and career environments.
